David Ford - Go To Hell

So, last night I had this dream where, while I was in my backyard, David Ford walked through and let me know that, since he couldn’t afford to bring a band with him when he tours Australia, was hiring me to play all those extra instruments. I remember waking up feeling disappointed that David Ford wasn’t touring Australia. I can play the piano and I can make percussive instruments produce their requisite sounds and that’s pretty much the limit of my musical skills. I would, however, learn whatever I needed to learn to play the shit out of this song.

David Ford - Panic

Easily one of my top ten tracks from last year, I’m really feeling this track tonight. Who hasn’t, at some stage, worried that all their faults, flaws and sins have become woven and double stitched into the fabric of the world? Also I spent the day, Sunday, working at one of our quarterly council meetings, which hasn’t helped any mood I may be in.

David Ford - Hurricane (Live)

Why isn’t my copy of ‘Let The Hard Times Roll’ here yet!? I know it’s on its way, I got an email saying as such. Damn Antipodean lifestyle making me so far away from all the culture that I want to get my hands on. But seriously, this song and this man are both awesome.

David Ford - Hurricane

Why aren’t more people screaming this guy’s name from rooftops? I only stumbled across him when I went to see Duke Special play at ICA in London as part of the iTunes Festival in 2007. I’ve barely listened to Duke Special since, but I play David Ford regularly and every time look forward to being able to see him perform live again. Which probably won’t happen any time soon now that I’m back in Australia. Someone over there tell him that we have Milk and Cookies in the southern hemisphere too, and the weather is nicer that time of year, and to please cover Australian Crawl’s “Reckless”.
