Colin Stetson - Fear of the Unknown and the Blazing Sun
Listening to Colin’s latest album “New History Warfare: Volume 2 - Judges” today I was struck that the man coupled with a suitable creative mind could create the most interesting acoustic (i.e. not programmed) dance music. That thought is only borne out here by his clear ability to use his sax to create a solid rhythm and mesmerising melodic riff. Over it, Laurie Anderson speaks about empathy and otherworldly things, and Shara Worden’s normally soaring voice is no less engaging at it intones its way through the latter half of the track, Stetson’s rhythm clacking and limping like faulty clockwork. Why can’t I stop listening to this?
Colin Stetson - In Love & In Justice
You’ll recall last when when I posted the single from this latest album, that I got to see Colin perform a very long saxophone drone track. This is that track. It’s not as long as it was seeing him do it live, but it’s still just as captivating. I can’t get enough of this.

Colin Stetson - The Righteous Wrath Of An Honourable Man (7” Version)
This man played with Laurie Anderson and Shara Worden last year at the Vivid Festival and he was just awesome - the man’s lungs are inhuman. He played a seven minute drone on a giant bass saxophone without actually stopping to take breath (it’s okay he was clearly circular breathing). This is his latest single. The album comes out later this month. If you don’t like saxophone, don’t even consider hitting play.
