– the opening of Donna Tartt’s THE SECRET HISTORY.
This is one of my best friend’s most favorite books. I am on page 13, and I think it is going to pwn me.
(via lifeserial)
I have incredibly fond stories about this book. An ex-coworker lent it to me saying that I would love it, and I did. I bought...

crumbler:
Joanna Newsom’s forthcoming album will be a triple LP.
As much as I love the J-Nu I’m really hoping this triple business is describing vinyl and not CDs. It took me forever to get my head around ‘Ys’ and that was just one CD of five tracks. I’m also really hoping that it’s because she’s padded it out with the new, stunning arrangements of things...

Calling all Beatles Fans: The Greatest Thing to... →
mollyknight:
Some super nerd has broken down the origins of every Beatles song including when it was written and the distribution of authorship. For instance, the first song they wrote “Love Me Do” was penned in 1962 and was 70% McCartney, 30% Lennon. The only song for which Ringo can take full credit is “Octopus’ Garden.”
And now if you’ll excuse me, I’m going to spend the next hour geeking...

crumbler:
Joanna Newsom is releasing another album.
Awwww. It took a long time, but there pops my internet crush bubble that I had for the Crumbler. I’m seeing her perform this week. TWICE. Love me some J-Nu.

She Don't Like That Kind Of Behaviour
So, there’s a song by Australian 80s band Australian Crawl called “Reckless”. It was always around on the radio when I was growing up, so I guess - much in the same way as Kate Bush’s “Wuthering Heights” - it’s just become part of my musical DNA.
Sydney band Peccadillo did a divine, lush, string-and-three-part-female-vocal-harmony-laden version at a live...
Your Ad Here
Okay, so I’m almost done tomorrow’s T-Rex but am drawing a bit of a blank as to what should be on the back of the newspaper he’s reading. This could be your chance to place an ad - free of charge! Any requests - serious, comical or silly, all considered?
Neutral Milk Hotel "In The Aeroplane Over The Sea"...
Hey, that was pretty alright.
Peer Pressure
So I went record shopping today and picked up Neutral Milk Hotel’s “In The Aeroplane Over The Sea”, just so that I can finally see what all the fuss is about. I’m sure it’s going to be worth the $25 I paid for it. If it’s not, then I’m never trusting the internet’s opinion again.

Dr Who: Not The End Of Time After All, Funny That.
I didn’t really like it. It was hammy, over the top, barely even a whisper of real plot to hold the action together, and the reintroduction of the Time Lords was so ineffectual they were reduced to pathetic villain of the month. If we’d have actually known something about the Time War other than the Doctor going wide eyed and saying ‘it was horrible’, then maybe there would...
Hey, people who are posting Doctor Who spoilers!
I thought I’d unfollowed you all, but no. Fuck you all.
